TOTŪM | NIGHTSTAND
TOTŪM was a project meant to push me outside of my comfort zone and challenge my skills as a maker. I intentionally used plywood and embraced the exposed ply to show the process and prove that you don’t need the most expensive materials to make something great. This project pushed me into new mediums and showed me how creative working with multiple materials can be. Overall, TOTŪM pushed my boundaries and helped me grow as a maker.
I hope you enjoy!

01
INSPIRATION
I wanted to focus heavily on geometric hexagonal forms while preserving the practical function of drawers. This exploration balances complex angular math with clean, usable volume.
02
EXPLORATION
This process allowed me to expose myself to new skills, pursuing my passion for mixing diverse materials and establishing highly tactile, clear interaction points.

03
CREATION
One feature I was extremely passionate about were the brass accents in both the handle and key slots. I have always admired the use of Walnut and Brass together the shiny golden nature of the brass complements and elevates the calm warm demeanor of the walnut.
04
PRESENTATION
I am very happy with how this project turned out and in such a fast amount of time. With it I kept the theme of 3 and created a Stacked Lamp (Socors). These projects inspired me so much to continue woodworking and pushing the boundaries of what I can create. I encourage you to check out the full process bock bellow or above!
