NOT AFILIATED WITH RUNGNE IN ANY WAY
Meet Rúngne - Founded by former competitive rock climber and famous Youtuber Magnus Midtbø.
Rúngne describes itself as where adventure meets rebellion.
"Born from the wild heart of climbers, we’re here to defy the ordinary and push the limits. We craft gear for those who prefer living life on the edge, who laugh in the face of a challenge, and thrive where others fear to tread."
Market Evaluation

Rúngne is transparent about its eco footprint, striving to use as many recycled and recyclable materials as possible. The brand stays connected to climbers by incorporating current themes and trends from the community. Like earth tones (browns, greens, blues) and references to natural climbing , mountains, trees ,and monkeys.
Rúngne also supports fellow climbers through a dedicated Athletes tab on Rúngne.com where sponsored athletes share their favorite products and offer discount codes to customers.

Final Concept
Using the rapid sketches combine the ideas from all three concepts to create the final form that follows the brands voice and introduces and interactive aspect

Each Layer of rock is made of a ¼” corrugated cardboard sheet with a printed decal on top appealing to Rúngnes ECO alignment.

Physical Model
The model was 3-D printed using PLA, which I sanded, primed, and painted on all visible surfaces. For any areas featuring artwork or imagery, I added a color printed decals to create a more realistic finish.

Making it Real
I also wired in a 12V LED, built a custom housing for the battery and button, and carefully hid the wiring behind the backdrop. The LED is tucked behind layered rock elements to mimic the ambient light bars shown in my earlier renders.
The large chalk bucket has a built in shelf so that the product inside is elevated and visible form a distance. Filled with smaller product like hand tape and brushes.

REFLECTIONS -
This project gave me a new understanding of how consumers move through a space and how designers can shape environments that draw people in and spark curiosity. I also enjoyed exploring Rungne as a brand and working to incorporate imagery and products that accurately reflect its identity.
Moving forward, I would like to continue developing the project by creating more refined renders and showing greater detail in how and why each feature was incorporated. I am also interested in exploring ways to connect the physical experience with Rungne’s online presence, such as integrating a QR code. Since many people shop online, allowing users to continue the experience digitally could help maintain engagement and extend the interaction beyond the space.
